Our Story
No more bad bread
Michette is inspired by the mornings of our childhood back in France, where we’d pass by the local boulangerie on the way to school, greeted by the smell of fresh bread and croissants. Bread was never a luxury, just a daily joy—fresh and made with love. That’s the experience we want to bring to Boston: real bread, baked with care, meant to be experienced every day.
The journey started back in 2019 when Thomas, a former New York lawyer, went back for an internship at his hometown boulangerie in France and fell in love with baking bread. On June 9, 2023, we opened Michette in Somerville and served our first customers with a vision to reimagine bread.
